International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) RECRUITMENT 2021 APPLY

ARCI invites applications/nominations for the post of Director. The candidate shall be an Indian national having creative, innovative and dynamic leadership qualities with substantial experience and achievements in the area of advanced materials.

1. Name of the post : Director 

2. Scale of pay : Pay Matrix Level 15/ Rs.67,000 - 79,000 (HAG) (annual increment @ 3%) + allowances as per 7th CPC 

3. Mode of Recruitment : Recruitment for the post of Director shall be made by any of the following method (s) 

a. Direct Recruitment 

b. Deputation, including short-term contract 

c. Re-employment 

4. Age limit for Direct Recruits : Not exceeding 56 years as on 1 st July, 2021 

5. Qualifications : 

Essential: Doctorate in Physical Sciences or Engineering/ Technology from a recognized university. 

Desirable: 

a. Post-doctoral research. b. Evidence of high professional eminence by way of recognitions like fellowship of academies, national/ international awards in Science/ Engineering etc. c. Experience in formulating and implementing multidisciplinary and multi-institutional R&D projects/ programmes preferably in the area of advanced and new materials, involving active interaction/ participation with industries. d. Experience in formulation and management of national/ international collaborative ventures/ Centres of Excellence. e. Published research work of high standard and/or good record of patents granted/filed. f. Experience in technology transfer related activities. 

6. Experience : For Direct Recruitment: Essential: a. At least 20 years of experience in R&D in industrial and/or academic institutions and/or Science and Technology organizations or as faculty/scientist of recognized national/international universities/ research institutes/corporate R&D Labs etc., out of which at least 4 years should be in managerial/ administrative capacity for science and technology programmes, planning and development, budget & finance, coordination and such organizational matters. b. R&D experience in the area of advanced materials technologies with a focus on technology development and transfer. Page 2 of 4 6. Experience (continued from previous page 2) : For Deputation/Contract: In case of Recruitment by Deputation/Contract, Scientists or Technologists working in the Central/ State Governments/ Universities/ Recognized Research Institutions/ Semi-Government, Statutory or Autonomous Organizations in India. a. (i) holding analogous posts; or (ii) 5 years regular service in post carrying pay in the Pay Matric level 14 of 7th CPC (in the pay band of Rs.37,400-67,000 + Grade Pay of Rs.10,000/- or equivalent as per 6th CPC). b. possessing the essential educational qualifications mentioned in para 5 above and essential experience mentioned above for direct recruitment.
